Diabulus in Musica comes forth from Spain and began their musical journey in 2006. All of the members of knew each other from the local metal scene in Pamplona and are experienced and dedicated young musicians who left their other projects and committed themselves to this new band witch they use as an outlet for their imagination.
Their music can best be described as symphonic metal with gothic elements, although their influences are diverse, you can find elements like opera on the album. During their first year of work and with the first songs recorded independently, the band managed to be finalists in some prestigious contests. This success encouraged the band to write some songs and from those, they selected 11 to be included in this (their first) studio album entitled, Secrets.
Well to be honest, you’ll hate or love this. Due to the gothic and symphonic elements, this is definitely not going to be for everyone but for a select crowd. Apart from that, the album contains some fine material and musicianship. But again due to the gothic/symphonic elements, a lot of the songs sound to similar to me and the vocals witch aren’t that bad at all become annoying due to the lack of change in style. Like I said, good album, but not for everyone.

73/100
