Swedish band 8-Point Rose was formed by some members from the former band Evermoore in 2009. Evermoore had been producing demo-records and played live gigs for seven years in different Scandinavian cities, Germany and the Czech Republic. Average age of the band members is only 20!

Musically this band offers nothing out of the extraordinary I'm afraid. It's kind of a mix between classic melodic heavy metal and power metal. It's not bad, but it's not a CD that I would return to later. The songs are not bad, and musically it's OK, but something is lacking. It might have to do with the influences they picked up from modern metal, that means that the songs are "blessed" with the occasional grunts, shrieks, and screams. This might work for some people, but I prefer my vocals a bit more harmonious. God bless the late Ronnie James Dio, that was a singer extraordinaire. Marcus Nygren's voice may be powerful, but most of the time he's lacking the harmony, although in some songs, like "Relentless" I do like him.

Let's not crucify this band however, and blame it on their young age. They might improve with the years/
