Band : Breed 77 Breed 77 is a metal band that originates from Gibraltar and resides in London, where the band was formed in 1996. The sound of Breed 77 comes down to a fusion of modern metal and a lot of Mediterranean and Arabic influences, which reminds us of a band like for instance Ill Nino.
On their fifth album, “Insects”, Breed 77 have consolidated their sound and even spiced it up some more with a new level of intensity and passion. With my eyes closed while listening, I had the impression from time to time that I was listening to Linkin’ Park or even Megadeth.
“Insects” was originally released in November 2009 in the UK, but is now internationally re-released after signing a deal with earMusic.“Insects” contains 11 songs and has a playing time of 56 minutes.
Highlights of the album are the opening track “Wake Up”, “Who I Am”, “New Disease”, “One More Time”, “Guerra Del Sol” and a stunning cover version of The Cranberries’ “Zombie”. In October 2010, Breed 77 will be playing a couple of live dates in Germany, but there are not yet any confirmed dates for the Benelux. 80/100 Erik. |
