CD REVIEW Continuance

Band: Continuance
Album title: Carry Ourselves
Label: Rise Records
Distributor: Bertus
Release date: 27/04/2010
Release: CD

In its recent run of highly credible hardcore acts, Rise Records has signed American melodic hardcore outfit Continuance. Borrowing former members of Saints Never Surrender and Means, the freshly formed group already released their debut album Carry Ourselves earlier this spring.

The album itself isn’t that bad, it has everything the band promised: hard, melodic, hardcore… but you can tell that it is these guys’ debut album. It lacks experience, and not all of the details have been worked out. Like you’ll notice that the sound of the different instruments and vocals don’t really work together. Although the songs aren’t badly composed, they lack little variety and all sound the same. But fans of Comeback Kid and Misery Signals will have with these "keepers of the faith" that stay true to the hardcore roots that have instilled so much influence in today's rock scene.

Not a bad album, but also not special.

57/100
