Band : Enforcer Second opus for this Swedish band, after their 2008 debut album Into The Night. When I first put this CD in my player, I thought I had been transported back into time. This is eighthies NWOBHM stuff. Kind of like putting on a compilation album by Neat Records - yes I'm that old to remember those albums, or a US Metal compilation, because Enforcer tap out of many different styles/ groups. To mention but a few groups that seem to have influenced Enforcer : Iron Maiden, Exciter, Savage Grace, Angelwitch, Tokyo Blade, even some Raven seeps through. If you liked these groups, you might want to buy this. Ok, they didn't reinvent the genre, nor is it original, but one's got to give them credit for writing and playing this kind of music as a new group. That Maiden after all these years still write more or less the same style of music might sound normal, but for a young group to go back to the eighties style. "Chapeau" they would say in French. 75/100 Erik Morren. |
