Band : Framing Hanley Framing Hanley is a five-piece outfit from Nashville, formed in 2005. The band was discovered by Brett Hestla, former Creed bass player and besides frontman of Dark New Day, also known as producer, who signed them to the label Silent Majority Group where Framing Hanley debuted with the album The Moment in 2007. The follow-up, A Promise To Burn, is a catchy album, with intelligently structured songs that have a head and a tail, wherein the expressive voice of singer Kenneth Nixon and the necessary tempo changes and refined guitar solos distinguish themselves. The musical style is a mixture of Emo, Post-Hardcore, Punkrock and Post-Grunge, all with eye for melody. Similar bands I can refer to are for instance Hoobastank, Incubus, Daughtry, Fall Out Boy, Lostprophets, Madina Lake or even the Belgian band Nailpin. “A Promise To Burn” contains 13 songs and has a playing time of 48 minutes. Highlights of the album are “The Promise”, “Wake Up”, “Bittersweet Sundown”, “Warzone”, “You Stupid Girl”, the ballad “Weight Of The World” and “Back To Go Again”. In September 2010 Framing Hanley are playing six dates in Great Britain, but there are no dates on the European mainland. 85/100 Erik. |
