Band : Innerwish If you had asked me some twenty years ago if Greece had a metal scene I would probably have answered "no way". I went to Greece for lots of holidays in the past, and besides the local Greek musicians - by which I mean not only people like Mikis Theodorakis, who is of course known over all of the world, but the people who make music for their own people, and get no recognition whatsoever elsewhere - and the international stars I did not think there was much of a local music scene. This however has changed the last years, and to prove it this is already the fourth album by Innerwish. Their style is a mix of power metal, hard rock and some progressive metal mixed in as well. Musically it's al crystal clear, well played, with nowhere on the album one element that overpowers the other. As a matter of fact after one spin I already liked the CD. Vocals are also very good, perfect English, but also a very clear voice, no grunting or snarling, just like we like. I'm waiting for your next installment, guys. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
