CD REVIEW Vince Neil

Release date : 04/06/2010
Release : CD

To be entirely honest : I'm not too convinced about the necessity to bring out this album. OK, one has got to do what one has got to do, and if Vince thought that the world was waiting for this album that's his good right.

There are 11 songs and if you've got the same edition I have, one bonus track on the album. 10 songs are covers, and 2 songs are new, among them the title track, which I found out to be one of the best on the album. Not that it's a bad album, not at all. OK, you've got Vince's characteristic voice, and all songs are somewhat “Mötley Crüe'ed", but it does not add something new to the songs. Instead, take for instance the ZZ Top cover "Beer Drinkers And Hell Raisers". OK, the song rocks, but if you've heard and seen ZZ Top perform this song themselves, I find the original to deliver a lot more punch than Vince's version.

To cut a long story short : this is an album for real Vince Neil fans. My rating would have been lower, but I do give them credits for an impeccable performance, and for not mistreating the originals.

70/100
