Korzus is a Trash metal band that comes forth from Brazil. The band formed in 1983 in Sao Paulo, and are one of the oldest and most important bands of the Brazilian metal scene, along with bands like The Max Cavalera created Sepultura. The coolest thing about the band is that their first release ever wasn’t a studio album but a live one, what of course no one expects and so the band seemed to amaze and surprise a lot of people.
Not only then but still now they seem to surprise (especially me). I’ve never heard of this band before although they already released 7 other albums prior to this one. But when I read they came from Brazil, I had mixed feelings, I was glad that it wasn’t another European trash metal band, but I was scarred that they could be a Sepultura clone.
Of course there are some Sepultura elements present in the music, but more in a complement way than a rip off way. It’s that Latin American groove that gives it that extra punch and vibe to set it apart from other European or American trash metal bands. Every song is original, cool and grooves. Only bad thing is the sound, it’s awesome but doesn’t set them apart from others and lacks some variation. But when you look at the whole picture it’s like their soccer, Brazil scores again with this one.

94/100
