Review: CD

The Australian horde of Destruktor exists for over a decade, yet this isn’t but the band’s debut full length, after several EP’s and demo try-outs.

Nailed brings warlike and furious Death Metal with a brutal, blaspheme, bestial and blackish concept, mostly intensely fast, yet with several slower parts too. The thrashy edge of apocalyptic sound has a very Australian approach, but who (dis-) cares about this? Yes, the album does not open unknown gates, but what’s wrong with penetrating underworlds we do like to conquer with profound grimness and merciless fury? Indeed, in case the musical (as well as lyrical and, if you want to, conceptual) quality is above average, the rest if f*cking superfluous.

And what’s more: both sound and compositional identity breathe a venomous Old School sulphurism, and who am I to dislike such grandeur??? Again, again, again a fabulous Hells Headbangers release!

83/100
