Band: Indica Indica is a all female pop rock group founded in 2001 and comes forth from Finland. Jonsu (vocals, violin), Heini (bass), Sirkku (keyboards), Jenny (guitar) and Laura (drums) founded Indica in 2001 after spending their entire childhood surrounded by classical music and playing in a few different band line-ups. And already in 2002, Indica signed a management contract with Peter Kokljuschin and in 2003 a record deal with Sony Music, leading to Indica starting work on their debut album. But in the meanwhile this is their 6th studio album, and you either gonna like it or not. I’m partly fan of the concept, there should be more girls in the music sector and get more respect. The music the girls make is another thing. It’s a combination of those typical dark Finish elements (like Nightwish) put in a sometimes happy/ sometimes sad pop coat. As you can imagine, this gives a weird combination, something experimental, Something that can’t please me with this kind of music. There are some songs on the record that have a cool feel to it, but I prefer other female bands 64/100 Jeroen. |
