Band: Mosfet The quintet Mosfet, formed in 2004, hails from Austria and besides a demo in 2006, called King Of Damnation I don’t think they did release anything official yet. Last year they (Philipp Essl-v, Marc Gruber-g, Patrick Schmuck-b, Alex Kleiss-g, and Florian Dobretsberger-d) recorded their debut full length, Sickness Of Memory, which lasts for thirty nine minutes. Sickness Of Memory combines groovy and melodic Death Metal with darkened Speed/ Thrash Metal. The whole comes with a sleazy Thrash’n’Roll-attitude, as well as some Doom and Black Metal oriented elements, yet the whole is less punky or spikes’n’leathry than the demo. On the contrary, the Thrash/ Death approach is the main drive behind this no-nonsense dynamics. And even though the recording is miles away from any original point of view, the variation and strong average quality of both song writing and performance make Sickness Of Memory a tasteful sound-collage. Can’t refuse it… 83/100 Ivan Tibos. |
