Band: Zodiac Ass German Thrash outfit was formed in 2001, yet it wasn’t until 2006 they released their self-produced debut full length, Lefthandmasturbator. In the meantime, the band entered the stage with, for example, Belphegor, Pungent Stench, Onkel Tom, Farmer Boys and ThirdMoon. And now, after some line-up changes, the band returns with their second full length studio album, A Monument Of Human Ignorance, which lasts for forty two minutes. As a matter of fact, the recording goes on where Lefthandmasturbator ended. Indeed, it doesn’t bring anything new or renewing, but it brings Thrash quality with an underground attitude and a no-nonsense approach. The formation’s we take no prisoners attitude comes with great song writing and an excellent performing, and a few times Zodiac Ass do add some own elements to their melodic yet harsh, even deadly Thrash Metal.
The tempo differs a lot too; and it isn’t the band’s main goal to be the fastest Thrash combo on Earth. Instead they will pay tribute to Thrash Essence. For fans of: early Metallica, Sarcastic, Annihilator, Massacre, Sacred Reich and Sepultura. 82/100 Ivan Tibos. |
