Band: Rafflesia Rafflesia is a metal band from Belgium and was formed in the spring of 2005. The band (although not really popular) combines elements from metal-core, trash- and death metal. Not an unusual combination, but with the release of their previous (and debut) album called Embrace The Final Day, the band placed themselves at the top of the Belgian metal-core scene. Now three years later, they're hoping to consolidate that position and of course grow from there. The metal-core sound from Rafflesia has become a bit more heavier than their previous record with just the simple addition of some more death core elements. And it works, not only does it sound heavier, it also sounds tight what isn’t that easy if you hear most bands play these days. On the record are 10 songs and although they sound original, they still have that similarity to tie the bigger picture together with a time span of 37 minutes. Although this may seem a bit short, the band compensated by being good musicians and being brutal. 87/100 Jeroen. |
