CD REVIEW The Shiver

Band: The Shiver
Album title: A New Horizon
Label: UK Division Records
Distributor: /
Release date: April 2010
Release: CD

The Shiver was born in 2005 in Italy when Faith ( the singer and composer) joined forces with Finch ( on drums) to start a new project and in 2007.

They signed a contract with UK Division Records that released their Debut Album Inside in January 08. And now, finally, after demo Shade’s Changing and an album Inside their second full length album A New Horizon is ready to see the light of the world. Now I only got a promotional copy with just 5 songs on it, but that was more than enough to convince me. The band brings a combination of Nu metal with gothic elements and certainly brings nothing or can distinguish itself with musicianship skills. But what they do, they do it fantastic. Lovely catchy melodies and well balanced riffs and vocals giving the whole picture more value. Also a lot of variation on this disc, the first son start of very powerful and epic song and the next one is a beautiful acoustic song.

Not the best band in the world, but what they do, they do it more than well. This is one album you can’t go wrong with.

87/100
