Band : Bangalore Choir I had never thought to be hearing from Banaglore Choir again after their only release in 1992 On Target, which I found a great album that up till today still is played once and again, but to my great surprise I received a copy to review from their new, 2010 release Cadence. I wondered if the sound still would be the same as back in the nineties. Well not exactly, but that’s probably due to the interval of almost 20 years between their debut and this album. I must say David Reece still has a very good voice, you could say he sounds a bit like David Coverdale, and musically the songs are in the same vein as their nineties debut, good classic AOR, with a decent mix of tracks, although I have the impression the softer songs are in the majority, which is a shame really cause the harder songs really do rock. Only David Reece and Curt Mitchell on guitars who were in the original Bangalore Choir line-up, are in this Bangalore Choir edition 2. On bass they enlisted Danny Greenberg (who also played on On Target actually, and on drums Hans in ‘t Zand (U.D.O.). A very good comeback album, it’s a shame it took them this long. 88/100 Erik Morren. |
