Band : Kiske - Somerville Either Serafino Perugino is a musical genius, finding the right combinations and putting them together, or he’s a very lucky guy to make these perfect matches. This time he’s coupled Michael Kiske (Helloween, Place Vendome) and American singer Amanda Somerville, known for her vocal work on Tobias Sammet’s Avantasia but also for co-writing the rock-opera Aina. Now a twelve song albums full of duets with the same singers might seem a strange idea, but hey , it works. The songs themselves might not be extraordinary, but these two voices together, or next to each other do the trick. Matt Sinner on bass, and Magnus Karlsson on guitars, both known from Primal Fear aided them in this task, Matt Sinner actually also being the main composer for the songs on this album. Some songs sound really bombastic, but overall it’s a very appealing album, definitely worth buying. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
