Band : Michael Borman Who’s never heard of Michael Borman? If that’s the case then either you’re just dumb, or have been hiding away on an uninhabited island without the consolation of some decent rock music. This guy has sung on seven Jaded Heart albums, besides lots of other projects. With Different he releases his fourth solo-album. I’ve read some reviews of this album on other sites, and most of those I’ve read weren’t too positive about this album. I think they’re wrong. This is a stunning album. I’ll explain. What’s so stunning about this album is the diversity of the songs. Where the other critics claim this is the weak point of the album, I think it’s to his advantage. Michael once again proves he’s a fantastic vocalist, able of delivering very diverse songs with great skill. However there’s one song that I find is totally out of place on this album, and that’s the German sung ballad "Was Mir Fehlt". This is a song that I think would score high in one or another German television show. All the other songs however are great, some of them even radio-friendly, sadly we’re living in an era where decent rock music is no longer played on radio stations, instead they prefer groups who score one miracle hit, never too be heard of again thereafter, let alone that somebody would remind them ten years later. So my conclusion is that this is a CD that I will play again and again. Very good effort by Michael. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
