Band : Nelson Twenty years ago the brothers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson managed to score a hit in the US with "(Can’t Live Without Your) Love And Affection", and by doing so managed to sell over six million copies of their debut CD ‘After The Rain’ Then came the grunge movement, and although they continued to release albums between 1995 and 2000, but then it all became very quiet. Now, twenty years later, Frontiers has given them the chance to record a brand new album. And let’s be honest, it’s a good album. Catchy songs, a bit heavier than you’d expect, but still AOR. OK, it sounds pretty commercial and smooth, but who cares? It’s as though we’re plunged back in the late eighties when you hear these songs. Are their still fans of this genre out there. I think so. At times they even sound a bit like Bon Jovi. The first half of the CD is outstanding, the second half is a bit weaker though. A good comeback album ! 85/100 Erik Morren. |
