Signum Regis is a melodic metal band that uses neoclassical elements and shredding guitars to conquer the metal scene. The band was founded by bass player and songwriter Ronnie König (in 2007). Later on, Ronnie invited guitarists Ado Kaláber and Filip Koluš, keyboard player Ján Tupý, drummer Ludek Struhar.

Still in need for a singer, the band sent some early recordings to singer Göran Edman (who has performed with people like Yngwie Malmsteen). Göran immediately impressed didn’t waited to long to join forces with the band. This cooperation was tight and moved forward. Their first completely recorded songs were sent to various labels and were quickly followed with positive responses. But it wasn’t until this year when the band finally had a stable line up that they started to get “really noticed”.
The eyes of power (their second album) is actually a concept album covering Roman and Persian history. This is more applied to the lyrics, what is a bit of a shame that they didn’t applied this to the whole song (with instruments) and it lacks power to convince you about what they are actually singing about. Other than that is is a typical European melodic power metal album. Fine and worthy, but typical.

This is for fans of Yngwie Malmsteen, although it lacks that insane shredding.
