After three studio albums (Metal Will Stand Tall – 2006, Sweet Trade – 2007 and Clash Of the Elements – 2009),  Swedish band The Poodles now have released a live album ‘No Quarter.  At the same time they have released a live DVD In The Flesh.

I’ve never seen them live myself, but judging from the CD alone (I’ve not seen the DVD) it seems that a Poodles show is an action packed, entertaining evening.  Their music bristles with energy. Musically it’s a mix between hard rock and metal, but with a good dose of glam thrown in as well. I do have some minor remarks to make however.  First of all at times you hear that Jakob Samuel is not a native English speaker.  Secondly at times his vocals are very high pitched. Interaction with the public is rather sparse on this album, but that in itself is not really a problem, cause that way you get to hear more of the music itself.

75/100
