The musicians behind this new band have proven themselves over the years in different other bands. For instance vocalist Alan Tecchio made seven albums with 80's trash/power metal band Hades, in which, as a matter of fact Dave Lescincky also played drums (that is, on two of the seven albums).
Justin Jurman on the other hand has played in Seven Witches, just like Clint Arent.
In 2008 they joined forces and formed Autumn Hour.
Some of the songs on this album date back to 203, and were written by Tecchio and Jurman, others were newly written, and to top it all of there's one Eurythmics cover on the album as well. However the original 2003 songs were totally deconstructed and fit effortlessy with the newer material.
This album is what you might call a concept album, based on a book written by Ray Kurzwell "The Singularity Is Near". It is not a story of joy and happiness but tells a story of the world after some catastrophic event, in which the world was devastated, and how technology tries to save the surviving humans from utter extinction.
The music is just perfect for a theme like that, somber, not too paced, yet very solid, and with lots of melodic twists an tempo/mood changes. Lyrics are of course very important.
Conclusion: a very good debut album. Very promising for the future.
