State Of Rock consists of 75 % Frontline/ Evidence One and 25 % Shy/ TNT if you like.  Is this a winning ticket for the lottery?  I doubt it.

Whereas you cannot blame Robby Böbel for not knowing how to write a decent tune, nor not knowing how to play guitar, it's the vocal's that disappoint me a little (much).
Not that Tony Mills is that bad a singer, but after 3 or four songs his rather high pitched voice really starts to get on my nerves.  On top of that there's not enough diversity in the songs, they are almost all mid tempo, with the occasional ballad in between.  And it's just that that makes Tony's voice annoying after a while, since is sounds as if you'd all heard it before.  As a matter of fact the whole album sounds a bit dated to me.  It's traditional, but nowhere innovating or inspirational. Maybe it's because in Germany there still is a public for this kind of music, but I doubt they will get many copies sold outside of Germany.

It's a shame really that such three great musicians had to rely on this singer.  Who knows if they had recorded this with 2 or 3 different singers what we might have had.
