Dew-Scented is a German thrash metal band, founded in 1992 and with already 8 studio albums on their curriculum vitae. All of these albums have a title that starts with the letter “I”.
The new album “Invocation” comes after a period of line-up changes and record deal perils. This dates back to the release of “Incinerate” in 2007, after which Dew-Scented toured extensively. In 2008 the drummer and both guitarists left the band. And record label Nuclear Blast had no longer interest anymore to offer the band a new contract. But frontman/singer Leif Jensen and bass player Alex Pahl recruited a new drummer, Marc-Andree Dieken (formerly of Obscenity) and a new guitar team, Michael Borchers and Martin Walczak, and signed a new record deal with Metal Blade.
So, “Invocation” is the studio debut of the new line-up and demonstrates the refound energy of Dew-Scented.
The furious thrash metal of the Germans measures up from time to time to death metal, but the guitar tandem Borchers - Walczak shows the more melodic side of the band, while the grunt of singer Leif Jensen is crystal clear to understand. Fans of for instance Slayer, Kreator, The Haunted and Grip Inc. will surely be interested in Dew-Scented.

“Invocation” contains 12 songs and has a playing time of 46 minutes. Highlights of the album are “Arise From Decay”, “The Invocation”, “Artificial Life”, “Torn To Shreds”, “Revel In Contempt”, “Global Hysteria” and “Slaves Of Consent”. The coming months, Dew-Scented play on a regular basis in Germany, but in the Benelux, there is only the festival appearance on Elsrock in Rijssen on August 28th 2010 scheduled.
