Spellblast's first CD was released in 2007 and was called "Horns Of Silence". The biography learned me that they are supposed to be playing Power Metal, and that they draw the influences for theis songs from Norse mythology.  Sort of like their Italian counterparts from Rhapsody Of Fire if you wish.
I'd like to point out however that Spellblast is not a pure power metal band.  This is because they also use more traditional instruments, like violins, bagpipes, or even, on some occasion an accordion.  The addition of these instruments to their music, makes them tend a bit toward folk metal, without the folk element overpowering the power metal element however. Production of the CD was done by the band themselves, and quite a good job they have accomplished.  Not all songs are of the same quality however, but  all together it"s quite an agreeable album to listen to.  Not really my cup of tea, since I'm not that into folk or folk influenced metal, but the really Power Metal parts, or, if you like you might even call them epic metal parts, are good.
Vocals are (well) handled by Jonathan Spagnuolo, greatly aided by a guest appearance from none other than Mr. Fabio Lione on two songs.
To sum it up, if you like Power/Epic Metal, with a twist of folk in it, it's a must buy.
