Band : Wicked Sensation Well. This is a pleasant surprise. German band Wicked Sensation started life in 2001 and in the same year released their debut album Reflected. Vocalist at that time was the Dutchmen Robert Soeterboek. In 2004 they released their second album Exceptional, but vocals at that time had been taken over by Fernando Garcia. Both albums were greatly praised and received very good, even outstanding reviews. Sadly enough in 2006 they quit, due to musical differences. To our luck Michael Klein, founder, songwriter and guitarist of the band, wanted the story to continue. So it was, that in 2009 he got together again with Robert Soeterboek and together with an all new rhythm section consisting of Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) and Dirk Bruinenberg (ex Elegy/ Bob Catley) he recorded this new album "Crystallized". Production of the album was also done by Dennis Ward. The album opens with what possibly is the best track of the whole album, "Better World". Immediately followed by "My Turn To Fly", a song that stands out of the rest, but strangely enough I personally find this one of the best tracks on the album it's got a catchy melody and has some hit potential. Robert's vocal performance is just staggering. Think David Coverdale with a pinch of Bob Catley thrown in as well, so you know you're in for a treat. 95/100 Erik Morren. |
