Band : In This Moment In This Moment are a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, where the band was founded in 2005.
The quintet has the hot chick Maria Brink as a singer and she not only attracts attention thanks to her good looks. No, there’s more than meets the eye, because Maria does really well in both the singing parts and screaming parts. A Star-Crossed Wasteland is the third album, after Beautiful Tragedy (2007) and The Dream (2008). And in the course of these three albums, In This Moment have evolved from Metalcore with Hard Rock influences to Mainstream Heavy Metal. The kind of music that achieves success in the USA, certainly when you tour intensively. And that’s why the breakthrough in Europe is not yet a fact: In This Moment haven’t played a lot outside the USA. But our patience will be rewarded I guess and with an album like A Star-Crossed Wasteland under their arms, In This Moment is more than ready for the international breakthrough. This is also the first album with new bass player Kyle Konkiel, replacing original bassist Jesse Landry who left in 2009. “A Star-Crossed Wasteland” contains 10 songs and has a playing time of 43 minutes.
Highlights of the album are the opening track and first single “The Gun Show”, the second single “The Promise” (with male vocals like Lacuna Coil, provided by Adrian Patrick of the band Otherwise, who sings along on this song with Maria Brink), “Standing Alone”, “Blazin’ ”, “Iron Army” and the ballad “World In Flames”. The coming months, In This Moment play a headlining tour in the USA, but there are not yet any confirmed dates for Europe. 80/100 Erik. |
