It's almost unbelievable, but the origins of Blackwood Creek date back to 1969, when Kip Winger  wanted to start a fight with Peter Fletcher.  But Fletcher overtowered Kip, at which point they started a band instead.  A bit later Kip's older brother Nate, who played drums, joined them and Blackwoord Creek was born. The following years they toured the Jr. High School and High Schools, and eventually also ended up playing in night Clubs, mostly with covers, but also with some own material. Sadly they parted ways in 1980.  Kip eventually forming Winger, Fletcher forming Pigmy Love Circus.

In 2007 Blackwood Creek reformed and recorded 11 new songs, which were pressed on this CD. Upon listening to this album it's obvious there's still chemistry between these guys. But don't expect a copy from Kip Winger's work.  This group has a style of it's own, going back to the sound of the seventies. At times they reaming me of John Elefante although with a faster approach and a little harder, but you also can hear Led Zeppelin, Reo Speedwagen and even some Kiss.

A very nice album for fans of seventies hard rock.
