Band : La Ira De Dios Lima, Peruvian’s trio La Ira De Dios have been around for a few years, claiming to have ditched the space kraut rock influences from the band's roots in favor of punkcore alongside its garage psych rock foundings. With this, the band's fourth release since forming in 1999, part of that is apparent. The music found on Apus Revolution Rock is wrappped around fierce Stooges sounds and surf trash melodies. Graced with plenty of hatred, thick, grating guitar tones and some scary leads, tempos stick mostly to a pogo/dance-violently cadence. Vocals sound like the guy from Raw Power, but in Spanish. You've heard it once, you've heard it a million times. But I have to admit the album’s pretty easy to listen to, as the songs fly by at a frantic pace. So if you're expecting another Archaeopterix (read review 04/11/2006) though, forget it ! 83/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
