Band : Taint Taint take sheer musical force and commanding vocals to new heights. Intricate guitar work collides with masterful tempo changes, the rhythmic patterns are furious yet inventive in their splendour. "Despite Isolation" and "Prey the wind don’t change” revel in The Melvins/Crowbar/Clutch-riffs with liberal doses of amp reptile and 70s rock. There’s no shortage of melodies and subtleties lurking beneath and the interesting arrangements shine on. The 12-minute crushingly epic “All Bees To The Sea " have extended sections for spacey guitarwork. I would place this band in catchy sludge category and if you love Hammerhead, Karma To Burn, Helmet, EyeHateGod, The Melvins, … the hard sounds of Taint should be a sonic treat for you. As a bonus you get the entire raw sounding concert from their electrifying Roadburn 2008 performance. Playing at the legendary Roadburn Festival whether it’s performing the main stage or the green room or the batcave, it always is something special. And this Welsh trio delivered the goods for sure in the Green Room at Thursday 17th of April. Recommended. 90/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
