Band: Tenebrae In Perpetuum L’Eterno Maligno Silenzio is Tenebrae In Perpetuum’s third full length studio release, with duration of almost forty minutes. The album, recorded by founding member Atratus aka Frozen Glare Smara (guitars, bass, music and lyrics; known from e.g. Beatrik and Tronus Abyss), new vocalist Ildanach (who also wrote some lyrics; involved with Absentia Lunae and ex-Aisling), and drummer Vidharr (also in Profezia, Near, Beatrik and Chelmno), was conceived with lyrical assistance of Numinas aka Dario Derna (Abazagorath, Krohm, Funebrarum, Vetus Obscurum [look out for the upcoming MCD on Debemur Morti very soon!], Evoken and many others; also the guy behind the Cold Void Studio). L’Eterno Maligno Silenzio is a killer-release. Like before, the sound is dry and rough, creating a hypnotic, macabre and freezing atmosphere, filled with hate, blasphemy, misanthropy and esotery. The purity of underground-oriented obscurity goes perfectly well with the somewhat macabre compositions. The tempo varies a lot: from slow and pounding over mid-tempo and oppressing to fast and furious, and the equilibrium between the different tempos comes with intelligence and professionalism. The primitive / nihilistic hymns sometimes breathe a funereal grimness, which isn’t that unusual within the (underestimated) Italian underground-scene. And because I’m just obsessed by these spheres, this release satisfies my present existence. I repeat: L’Eterno Maligno Silenzio is a killer-release! 91/100 Ivan Tibos. |
