Band : Admiral Of Black Admiral Of Black is an amazing band that blends the best of riff rock bands such as Karma To Burn, Orange Goblin and Clutch with the best of heavier, more bigger bands such as Metallica, Black Label Society, Motorhead and Alice In Chains. Fans of pure, heavy rock will love this The Hand Of Chaos is angry, assaultive not particularly subtle, but bursting with effective and pointed songwriting. Vocalist Jeremy Bremner commands the troops with his James Hetfieldmeets Alex Agnew meets Scott Weilandvocal style, he sings with melody at times, and even throws in the occasional primal scream. The riffs scream and weave, but never overpower the format. Solid playing on their part. Lead guitarplayer Mike Anderson displays good sense of melody and his numerous guitarsoloing just scream class and skill. There are tendencies to jam a little as well as softer moments. The record flows very well and the variety between the songs keeps it from ever becoming a bore to listen to. Listening to numbers like “Bitten by the rattlesnake”, “Contaminate” and my fave track “High noon” I am also hearing some early Metallica influence as well, and that ain't a bad thing. Let's face it Ride the Lightning rules, right? For the most part, these eight songs are dirty kick ass rock’n’ rollers fuelled with burning liquor solos. Admiral Of Blackdeliver the goods and leave you wanting another listen most of the time. Impressive stuff indeed. 90/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
