Review : CD

Confined Within came to life when five young lads formed the band in Stafford, UK, in 2007.

They received the opportunity from Brutal Elite Records to release their debut EP, and brutal it sure is. Unfortunately, my conclusion is that the Metalcore from Confined Within needs to mature some more before this band might establish a solid reputation. I recommend them to keep on practicing and practicing and practicing, with specific attention for some more melody, so that high quality songs are the consequence. This way, Confined Within should be able to diversify itself in the metalcore scene. Now, I hear too much uniformity on the five tracks and I find it hard to distinguish one song from another. The five tracks featured on the EP (playing time 20 minutes) are “Circles”, “An Underlying Past”, “Beginnings”, “When The World Stops Turning” and “No White Flag”.

Confined Within will go on tour with Rose Funeral and Trigger The Bloodshed in October 2010.

65/100
