Band : Hard Hard. Once again a band I'd never heard of before. Which might not seem normal, for someone who's writing reviews like me, but hey, when you've got a full time job, and a family to cope for with a fie year old, there's other things next to music to do, so I think it's quite normal you don't know all the band that are around. Which, in this case, means that I first put on the CD, and then started reading the additional information I was given, next to searching around a bit on internet. What did this learn me? Well, that Hard is a band originally hailing from Hungary, which was formed in 2004. In the beginning they played in their native language, but after two albums which received a lot of acclaims and were award nominated in Hungary, they decided they would continue with English lyrics, which inevitably meant they would have greater chance of international success or attention. In 2009 they announced that they would join forces with Björn Lodin the Swedish vocalist/guitarist/producer of Baltimoore. So far so good about general information. Now down to the album itself. To sum it up in a few words, they sound very similar to Krokus, so you know what you're getting, furious, uncomplicated hard rock, but they do manage to keep it interesting enough to listen to the whole CD in one go. Of course the voice of Lodin is just what they needed for this kind of music. A band I might follow a bit more closely in the future. 83/100 Erik Morren. |
