Hailing from Lima in Peru, this electric quintet stirs their sonic cauldron and concocts some truly monstrous space rock with delirious stoner vibes. If anything, the return of Serpentina Satelite is aurally a heavy and powerful experience. From the very beginning, “Fobos” sounds strong and emphatic, and this impression does not fade even after further progression into the album. The band's approach is simply credible, but as far as songwriting goes, the music could have used a bit more imagination. “Sangre de rodos”, the titletrack and “Sendero” see Aldo Castillejos - drums/percussion, Félix Dextre - bass/vocals, Flavio Castillejos - hope & providence, Dolmo - lead'rhythm guitar &  Renato Gómez - rhythm'lead guitar/vocals combine Monster Magnet's spacey cosmic rock ala Tab 25 coupled with Aqua Nebula Oscillator’s bleeping psychedelia and Hawkwind's rocky, space atmosphere. “Al apaec” is a heavy spaced out psych rocker with wailing trip guitar licks and blasts of alien electronics. It's got a relentlessly pounding White Hills-beat and I really dig the mixture of crashing guitar chords and electrifying solo bits. The mix and production are rock solid, everything thuds into your chest just the way it's supposed to.
Fans of White Hills, Spacemen3, La Ira De Dios, Amon Duul II,…will dig this for sure.
