Black Sonic hails from the small European principality of Liechtenstein, nestled in the Alps between Switzerland and Austria. The band’s previous name was Black Sonic Prophets, and under this banner and after their formation in 2004, the quartet became involved with American producer Jeff Collier (Apocalyptica, Kreator, Exilia…), who then produced and supervised the sessions for their 2005 release, The Broken EP. But it wasn’t until their 2006 debut album, Out Of The Light - Into The Night that they really generated a lot of international attention and a steady fan base.

Now the hard rock bands album has been out for a while now and although they got a lot of attention from press and fans, I really cant see why. Sure there are a couple of songs on the record that aren’t to bad, but I can’t find one song that really appeals to me or inspires me to learn how to play it myself or even to get more information about the band.

The sound itself could have been better. Most of the songs sound like the guitars are toys and have more of a computer game sound than an amp. The songs on their own sound empty and without passion, due to this it’s really hard for people to listen to the album from first till last song.

62/100
