Unlight was founded in 1997 by Blaspherion and Necron, who were both responsible for the guitar work. Over the years, some members decided to leave the band, some new Black Metal warriors were added to the line-up, but the band remained faithful to what they were best at: bringing Black Metal to the masses!

With their brand new album, “Sulphurblooded”, the fans and the rest of this vast Metal World should be prepared for some ear smashing black metal songs with an incredible trash touch. This being the band’s sixth album, it was of course obvious that this album had to be demonically good. According to me, they have succeeded in doing so. One of the best songs on the album is the track which you can also listen to at the band’s official Myspace page: “Dead All Things Will Be”. This song is divided into two parts: the first one as second track and the other part as eighth track. With these songs, Blaspherion, Lord Grond and Raptus gave birth to some of the best Black Metal work I’ve heard so far this year. With “Sic Transit Gloria Mundi”, starting off with the sounds of a crying baby mixed with the bleating of a goat, we’re immediately sucked into the correct atmosphere. Other songs, such as “Pale Rider-Pale Horse”, “Become An Opponent” and “Invictus”, Unlight really prove how close they are to the early sound of Immortal.

What else can I say about this album? Well, Unlight once again came one small step closer to the top of Black Metal. They’ll bring rage to the world with their new generation of vipers, entitled “Sulphurblood”, which will make your ears bleed, mind you, in a positive way.
