CD REVIEW Crematory

Band: Crematory
Title: Black Pearls
Label: Massacre Records
Distribution: Suburban - Bertus
Release date: November 26th 2010
Review: Compilation-DCD

German top-act Crematory and Massacre Records release a double-compilation with songs from the band’s complete history. Especially newer material has been compiled, yet one third of the tracks may date from the nineties.
I don’t get the point. It isn’t about new or renewed recordings, it isn’t about unreleased-before-stuff, it isn’t about hard-to-get material, only available in Japan, South Korea or Zumba-Bumbaland – it’s just a collection of songs taken from (all) previously released albums.
For those who follow the band only since a few years, for example, and those who aren’t trusted with the early years (which were much more brutal and intense back then), this compilation might be interesting, but maybe you better buy that stuff in its completion instead of just some excerpts on a commercial disc? Money talks?
Not one single newity
A DVD with video clips and a live-performance (Wacken) included…
