CD REVIEW Massive Slavery

Band: Massive Slavery

Label: Maple Metal Records

Release date: Out Now
Release: CD

Born from a concept of Marc-André Barrette (ex-Paroxysm) and Joël St-Amant (Descend into Nothingness), Massive Slavery officially saw light in the winter of 2009 in Quebec, Canada. Having previously worked with Joel in “Descend into Nothingness”, Pierre-Alexandre Mercier (Decrepity) didn’t hesitate to join his friends in this new formed band. Not wanting to waste time, the band entered writing mode even before the line up was completed and a front man was found.

That spot was filled up by Jonathan St-Pierre. His addition to the band gave a boost of energy to push them to finalize the writing of their first album called “Global Enslavement”.

And that must have been a massive boost, because for a bands first album, this is a serious piece of art on all levels. From musicianship to production level, no other “new band” can compete with this. Its brutal, fast and in some way the riffs and play style reminds me of fear factory. This is not my genre of metal and certainly not a genre I would start to listen to, but this album is just awesome in every way that I really enjoyed it, and that makes a great band, music that everyone van enjoy.

93/100
