Blood Red Shoes are a dynamic rock duo from Brighton, UK. The only two members, vocalist/guitarist Laura-Mary Carter and vocalist/ drummer Steven Ansell, started in 2005 with their intense combination of raw guitar riffs and hammering drums.

Heavily inspired by grunge bands of the nineties and certainly not influenced by any Britpop band, Blood Red Shoes are often named in the same breath as other rocking duos like for instance White Stripes, The Black Keys, The Kills, The Raveonettes, The Black Box Revelation and Vandal X, but the sound of Blood Red Shoes’ alternative music is quite unique. It’s furious, it’s hyperkinetic and that’s what makes it utmost attractive. The songs on “Fire Like This”, the follow-up for debut album “Box Of Secrets” (2008), are like shots of adrenaline and beg to be screamed along. “Fire Like This” contains 10 songs, has a playing time of 41 minutes and is even more convincing than the debut album “Box Of Secrets”. Highlights of the album are the opening track “Don’t Ask”, the single “Light Up”, “When We Wake”, “Keeping It Close”, “Heartsink ”, “One More Empty Chair” and the 7 minutes long epic “Colours Fade”.

Driven by a punk attitude, Blood Red Shoes are almost constantly touring and the duo built up a strong international fanbase that way. Currently, Blood Red Shoes are on tour in Europe, from March 1st 2010 untill April 24th 2010 when they end their club tour in Belfast. And Steven and Laura-Mary are already confirmed for some summer festivals, like for instance the Pukkelpop festival that takes place in Hasselt, Belgium from August 19th 2010 untill August 21st 2010.
