Release date: 08/01/2010
Review: CD

Well, this is a difficult one to me. Why? Because Mnemic’s former material couldn’t really please me; it isn’t my cup of poisonous tea, I’m afraid.

However, in comparison to the former albums, Sons Of The System isn’t that ‘terrible’ at all. The combination of very technical and slightly unusual / experimental riffs and rhythms is of a high quality, the production (by the band itself as well as Tue Madsen, of course) might be one of the heaviest within the scene, and the variation between the songs has been pronounced on the foreground. The vocals by former Scarve-vocalist Guillaume Bideau are very varying too – he growls, grunts, sings, screams, chants and breathes with passion. But… I’m not convinced again…

Their most mature one to date, so it is highly recommended to the ‘real’ fans, but that’s it…

75/100
