Formed from the ashes of a previous melodic death-metal band called Light This City, came a bay area punk rock band called Heartsounds. The band consists of founding members Laura Nichol (guitars/ vocals) and Ben Murray (guitars/ vocals) who after growing tired of banging heads decided to return to their true love…punk rock. And yes, you noticed correct, just 2 people in this band (on the record anyway)

The best friend duo spent the beginning of 2009 writing and entered the studio that summer with former Light This City producer Zack Ohren to record their debut album.
Until We Surrender focuses on the faster and more technical aspects of its the punk genre with lots of pop elements. This is something a lot of people can and will appreciate due to the fact that this makes it a lot more appealing than normal “oi oi oi punk”. For me the best feature on this record are the vocals. The way they seem to interact with each other gives it a nice touch and makes it for me one of the best punk records I heard ever. It’s catchy, commercial and easy to listen to. Something you can’t go wrong with.
