Symphorce is a progressive power metal band from Germany, and was formed in October 1998 by singer Andy B. Franck. The band name was created and a few months later, in 1999 that they released their first album “Truth to Promises”. This release gave the band a lot of attention, and although it all worked out for the band, they had some problems and had to make some line up changes, giving them a total different sound.
A year later, in 2000, their combined songwriting resulted in the second album called “Sinctuary”. It led to the band being quoted as one of the most promising acts in Germany. But again the band was struck with issues and yet again had to make a few line up changes.
Now 10 years later and with some sort of steady line up, the band just released a new record called “Unrestricted”. To define their sound I would say that it would be a combination typical “iron maiden heavy metal” elements fused with lots of melodies and the sound of the voice of Disturbed.
That sounds like one big/good package, but for some reason, the music isn’t really interesting and sooner or later you’ll find yourself wondering of to other bands/music. It feels like we all heard those songs somewhere else and aren’t really bringing something new, and when that happens the records seems a bit to long. So this is a 50/50 record. It’s not bad, but there are better ones available.

78/100
