Review: CD

A year and a half after the last album, End Of Time, was released, Lost Dreams return with their fourth studio effort. And it is their most mature and cohesive to date.
End Of Time is a varying recording, with tracks that are both melodic and aggressive. The forceful, mid- to up-tempo Death Metal includes elements from modern Thrash and Dark Metal, and the tracks consist of many breaks and tempo-changes, and a well-balanced equilibrium between a groovy rhythm and harmonious melodies. Some parts are rather catchy, others are slowed-down, then again a rocking vibe or pounding grimness are the main driving force behind these forty three minutes of tasteful Metal.
All members, Stefan Traunig-v, Dominik Hormann-b, Herbert Sopracolle-g, Rafael Peychär-d, and Andreas Maierhofen-g, did a nice job, and both instruments and grunts / screams / growls come with an excellent mix and production.
Also the few keyboard lines are worth mentioning. These are used only sporadically, but their importance is high, opening the gate to a next level.
Even though the album does not disappoint, I’m still missing an own approach from time to time. Sometimes Lost Dreams come with a unique point of view, which is good, yet a few pieces seem somewhat predictable.
Nevertheless, Wage Of Disgrace turns out to be a fine neck-breaking piece of Extreme Art.
