Oh my God !  After entering this Cd in my player, and pushing the play button, I was completely blown of my socks.  It's as if time stood still, and Ratt, had gone back in time for some twenty years.
Man, what an energy.  This has more vibe, more balls, more guts than many of today’s younger bands will ever have.

The line-up of the band is for 60 % the same as it was in the eighties,  except for the guitars, where Carlos Cavazo (who used to play in Quiet Riot) has joined the band, and Robbie Crane who plays the bass.
I admit having lost sight of Ratt for a few years, and hadn't even noticed they had released an album in 1999, but when researching for this review it soon became clear that this 1999 album was nothing more then average.
Not so on this new album.  This has the energy again they had in the eighties.  What a great comeback.  Hadn't it been for the otherwise rather meager program Graspop  is offering this year, I might have been tempted to go to the festival, but to my personal taste there are too much fillers, and almost no killers.  It might have been a good idea to reserve one day of the festival for all the oldies...

Now back to this album.  Stephen Pearcy sounds as good as on their first albums, with his very recognizable voice and timbre.  The compositions are great, and it must be said the guitar tandem Carlos Cavazo - Warren DeMartini kicks ass like hell. This year has already delivered some fantastic new stuff, as well as some fantastic come-back stuff, and this CD is one to put in the latter category.  All fans of classic eighties hard rock/metal who staid true to their roots should immediately go out and buy this one.  They deserve it.
