Helstar is a combination of heavy, speed and trash metal band that comes from Houston Texas. But they weren’t always that brutal as now, Helstar began with a more basic metal style in 1983 with 2 demos followed with their first studio album in 1984 titled Burning Star that was released under Combat Records. In that time they got some success with that record , but struggles within the band and management issues broke apart the line-up of that time].

After a year or so they reformed and released their second album and in 1987 they moved to Los Angeles. Since then (and there) the band knew lots of internal struggles (followed with by the line up changes), quite a few album releases, and quite some attention (although the band mainly stayed in the underground scene).

Now the band once again tries to get to the surface with their new highly anticipated (by fans, press and critics) eleventh album called Glory Of Chaos. And the band couldn’t have chosen a better name. This album brings the perfect combination of old school and modern days metal.

The beauty of this combination lays In the old school killer metal riffs but brought in a modern day metal sound making it sound even more brutal and harder. Apart from that, every song on the record sounds unique. Even so unique that I can’t find another band that sounds like this. If you like metal (in general), you definitely WILL love this.

93/100
