Troll is a Norwegian black metal band that was founded in 1992, when Stian Arnesen (Nagash) started making music with Glaurung and Fafnir. Later on Glaurung and Fafnir left the project and Nagash continued his solo project and released his debut album “Trollstorm over Nidingjuv” in 1995 and follower “Drep de kristne in 1996.
He then took a break with Troll due to other bands like Dimmu Borgir and Covenent, but founded new time to invest in Troll and released “The Last Predators” in 2000 and “Universal” in 2001 and released another album at the beginning of this year.
To be honest I really don’t like Black metal, I actually hate it. I just think its fast non to complicated riffs, some blast beats and lyrics about Satan. And I actually don’t even know why black metal artists give themselves dragon-, dwarf- or other mythical creatures names and has those typical clichés making it like Spinal Tap. Now Troll is everything I just mentioned.
Although they haven’t reinvented the wheel with this album, it is of high production quality what doesn’t make it sound like a vacuum cleaner of a blender and actually makes it a bit pleasant (for a non fan) to listen to. But it is you typical cliché black metal album and band.

70/100
