Finland is most definitely one of the leading countries when it comes to female fronted metal bands. Once again, Katra proves to be loyal to her lovely country. With Out of the Ashes, she makes clear what she really stands for: a strong personality, a bittersweet voice and a stunning performance. This being only her second album sung in English, she’s definitely heading for the top of the female fronted metal mountain. Whereas her previous album was very convincing and catchy, Out of the Ashes seems much more mature. Katra took her time to create a new masterpiece and thanks to her commitment, this album has become a real treat for the ear. The guitar has become a greater protagonist, especially on a song like If there is no tomorrow. In addition, a song like One wish away will definitely become a hit single!
It’s undeniable that Katra’s appearance is far from appalling and her vocal style is just incredibly charming. According to me, with Out of the Ashes, Katra will become a true Finnish siren who will attract lots of souls to her enchanted pond of bittersweet female fronted metal.
