The Chariot is an American metalcore/punk band from Georgia U.S., and was formed in 2003. The band was formed by Scogin shortly after he left his position of vocalist in his previous band Norma Jean. The current lineup consists of drummer David Kennedy, bassist Jon “KC WolfKindler, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Jon Terrey and Stephen Harrison.
The band has experienced frequent lineup changes since its inception, with Scogin being the only original member. The band plays an abrasive style of metalcore that does not adhere to typical stylings like melodic/abrasive dynamics and harmony singing. They have built a reputation around their powerful live performances. Their music has been critically acclaimed as something, “that will melt your face and leave you wanting more.”
That last statement is about half true, this music will melt your face, but it definitely won’t leave you wanting for more. The whole package sounds so chaotic and harsh that it feels like nobody knows how to play an instrument and they just bash it around. The fist light point I could discover was during song track number four where there was some slight vocal melodies but shortly after turned back in to strange feedback. If you like static or want to scare away people this album will do the trick.
