Slayer, a band we all know very well in the metal scene. A notorious band, not only known for their playing style and skills, but most specially known for their controverse lyrics about war, religion, holocausts and more. Although typical subjects in metal lyrics, Slayer ha raised the bar so high that they got themselves a lot of lawsuits. You either love them or hate them but you’ll definitely will know them and remember them.
For those who have been living under a rock the last 30 years, Slayer is an American Trash metal band that comes from California, U.S.A. and was formed in 1981. The band was founded by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman who got together with Dave Lombardo and Tom Araya. Together they rose to fame with their 1986 release Reign In Blood witch today is still revered as one of the best albums ever and is credited as one of the "Big Four”.
The band has been around for some time now and has been the center of attetion in more than one way, and to recommend that, they re-released their 3 live DVD’s entitled War at the Warfield, Live Intrusion and Still Reigning. These DVD’s cover quite some time as there were a few years between them.
Live Intrusion (the first Slayer DVD ever) was recorded on the last day of the American tour and captures the raw intensity of the band in the live setting, and although their was a brutal in your face attitude going on,  there is a lot of technical skill to be found here. for example: those ear-blasting solos from the dynamic duo of Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, cavemen like drumming from drummer Paul Bostaph , and Tom Araya delivering his trademark vocals and playing bass.
The other 2 DVD’s are actually very similar as most of the set lists are pretty much the same. The only thing different between the 3 of them is audio and visual quality due to the way they filmed back than and now. For the rest they stay as brutal as ever and gotten more routined than in the days and know how to perform and get a crowed stoked. So it doesn’t actually matters witch of the 3 you would like the most, but to be honest my favorite was Live Intrusion. That one particularly has (again, for me) the best atmosphere, and sounds the most fun (on the other DVD’s it didn’t seem like they were having fun playing) and have a guest coming up on stage (Robb Flynn)
Whichever you chose, you can’t lose.

87/100
